- भारतीय वन्यजीव संस्थान की एक टीम के नेतृत्व में झारखंड के पलामू टाइगर रिजर्व में हाथियों की DNA प्रोफाइलिंग चल रही है।
- DNA जांच के लिए हाथी के गोबर को इकट्ठा किया जा रहा है
- जंगल में क्रास रेफरेंसिंग के लिए कैमरे लगाए जाएंगे।
- जनगणना इसी माह पूरी होने वाली है।
मनोज सोनी ने UPSC के अध्यक्ष पद की शपथ ली
- आयोग की वरिष्ठतम सदस्य श्रीमती स्मिता नागराज ने शपथ दिलाई।

- ठाणे स्थित 46 साल पुराने कॉमर्स करियर कोचिंग इंस्टीट्यूट कर्णावत क्लासेस ने “नो मोबाइल, गो मोबाइल” नाम से एक अनूठा अभियान शुरू किया है।
- इसका उद्देश्य भारतीय किशोरों में मोबाइल की लत के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना है।
- इस अभियान के माध्यम से, वे मुंबई महानगर क्षेत्र के ठाणे-बदलापुर क्षेत्र में 25 प्रदर्शनों की एक श्रृंखला के माध्यम से कम से कम 50,000 लोगों तक पहुंचने का इरादा रखते हैं।
रवनीत कौर को भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग की अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया
- केंद्र सरकार ने 1988 की पंजाब कैडर की IAS अधिकारी रवनीत कौर को भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया है।
- संगीता वर्मा कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।
- 15 मई के आदेश के अनुसार, उनकी नियुक्ति पदभार ग्रहण करने की तिथि से पांच वर्ष या 65 वर्ष की आयु प्राप्त करने की तिथि तक या अगले आदेश तक, जो भी पहले हो, के लिए होगी।
गतका को 37वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में शामिल किया
- ‘गतका’ के पारंपरिक खेल को देश भर में महत्वपूर्ण बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है क्योंकि भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (IOA) ने इस खेल को आधिकारिक रूप से 37वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों-2023 में शामिल कर लिया है।
- यह इस साल अक्टूबर में गोवा में आयोजित किया जाएगा।
- इस राष्ट्रीय आयोजन के दौरान, IOA, गोवा सरकार के सहयोग से, कुल 43 विषयों के लिए प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन करेगा ।

- DNA profiling of elephants is underway in Jharkhand’s Palamu Tiger Reserve under the leadership of a team from the Wildlife Institute of India.
- Elephant dung being collected for DNA testing
- Cameras will be installed in the forest for cross referencing.
- The census is going to be completed this month.
Manoj Soni took oath as the chairman of UPSC
- The senior most member of the Commission Smt. Smita Nagraj administered the oath.
- Dr. Soni joined UPSC as a member in 2017 and later assumed the duties of the chairman in April 2022.
- He has a background in Political Science and specialized in International Relations Studies.
- Dr. Soni did M.S. University of Baroda and Dr. He has served as the Vice Chancellor of Ambedkar Open University.
Karnavat Classes launches ‘No Mobile, Go Mobile’ campaign
- Karnavat Classes, a 46 years old commerce career coaching institute based in Thane, has started a unique campaign named “No Mobile, Go Mobile”.
- It aims to raise awareness about mobile addiction among Indian teenagers.
- Through this campaign, they intend to reach out to at least 50,000 people through a series of 25 demonstrations in the Thane-Badlapur area of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Ravneet Kaur appointed as Chairperson of Competition Commission of India
- The Central Government has appointed 1988 Punjab cadre IAS officer Ravneet Kaur as the new chairperson of the Competition Commission of India.
- Sangeeta Verma is serving as the working president.
- According to the May 15 order, his appointment will be for five years from the date of assumption of charge or till the date of attaining the age of 65 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Gatka included in 37th National Games
- The traditional game of ‘Gatka’ is expected to get a significant boost across the country as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has officially included the sport in the 37th National Games-2023.
- It will be held in Goa in October this year.
- During this national event, the IOA, in collaboration with the Government of Goa, will organize competitions for a total of 43 disciplines.
